In the latest episode of House of the Dragon, we see Rhaenyra Targaryen have an exciting night, to say the least. She went to a brothel with Daemon Targaryen, where they were way more intimate than usual. Later in the night, she loses her virginity to Ser Criston Cole. Towards the end of the episode, the Maester gives her Moon Tea. But we don’t see her consume it. This could mean there is a possibility she is pregnant because of what we know from the book Fire and Blood.
From the next episode’s preview and the book, we know Laenor Velaryon will marry Rhaenyra. As Rhaenyra is around 18 years old in episode 4, the year must be about 114 AC (Rhaenyra was born in 97 AC). This is the year when the royal wedding takes place and also the year when the couple has their first child. There’s just one problem; the child has black hair. Targaryens and Velaryons both have pale blond hair, so how is it possible that none of their children had it?

Why we think Rhaenyra could be pregnant
It is well known in the book that Laenor doesn’t have any interest in women. The princess was reported to have said, “My half brothers would be more to his taste, “ to her father. He was known to surround himself with young and handsome squires. Rhaenyra’s first three children are all born with black hair, which cast doubt on her character. There were quite a few rumors in the book, some of which suggest that Daemon took Rhaenyra’s virginity. Another indicates that Daemon gave Rhaenyra “kissing lessons” to help her take things further with Ser Criston Cole.
Ser Harwin Strong is rumored to be the father to all the kids Rhaenyra had in her marriage to Laenor. But in episode 4, we saw Harwin Strong only recognize the princess and nothing other than that transpired between them in the show so far. It looks like the show took the rumor and put their own spin on it by confirming Rhaenyra and Criston’s tryst.
All this adds ups to one theory that Rhaenyra could be pregnant. It is already the year she has her first child; Criston Cole has black hair like Rhaenyra’s child. And it’s unconfirmed whether she drinks the Moon Tea or not. But we know from the books that Ser Criston becomes a knight to Alicent and swears loyalty to her. This is confirmed in the preview for episode 5 as well. So maybe not all of Rhaenyra’s black hair children are Criston’s, but it is possible that the first could be.
