Game of Thrones adorned the crown of the best TV show of the 21st century, and the crown was star-studded with some of the best talents across the planet. Emilia Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen, is definitely one of them. Clarke has worked in some of the most famous media franchises in the world, from Game of Thrones to Terminator to Star Wars, and will be joining the MCU very soon. Till now the actress’ role had been kept a secret in Marvel’s upcoming TV series Secret Invasion. But it seems like her the name of her character has been accidentally leaked.
According to a report by Collider, a curious addition to Tenor – the gif aggregator you use to send funny short clips to your friends and contacts – may have accidentally revealed the name of Clarke’s character in Marvel’s Secret Invasion. Recently, an official account for Marvel’s Secret Invasion was created on the site. One of the gifs uploaded on this site is of Clarke, and it has been labeled “its the beginning abigail brand”. It featured the actor saying that very sentence, minus her name.
Once the news began to spread like wildfire, the label was quickly changed to “its the beginning emilia clarke”. In the Marvel comics, Abigail Brand is a human-alien hybrid who leads a subdivision of S.H.I.E.L.D called the S.W.O.R.D, an agency specifically assigned to take care of extra-terrestrial threats. She has limited pyrokinesis and regularly plays a hero supporting the Avengers, X-Men and Guardians of the Galaxy at crucial times.
