We live in a world where companies are adapting almost every novel and comic book into live-action. How can video games stay behind? Granted, adapting a video game is much more difficult than the two, getting the moves and aesthetics right, but we nerds will take them all; the more, the merrier. The Umbrella Academy executive producer/showrunner Steve Blackman is currently working on a Netflix series based on the popular video game Horizon Zero Dawn. And ever since its announcement, fans have been demanding that Game of Thrones alum Rose Leslie play the lead character, Aloy.
This should come as no surprise. Female characters like Game of Thrones’ Ygritte inspired Horizon Zero Dawn’s protagonist, Aloy. The game’s director Mathijs de Jonge himself has confirmed this. Aloy also happens to look a lot like Ygritte in the game.
As soon as the show was confirmed to be in the works, Twitter erupted in response suggesting Leslie for the lead role.
Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Down portrays a post-apocalyptic United States inhabited by robotic creatures. It follows the story of a clever outcast hunter Aloy. Do you think Rose Leslie will be a good fit for the role? Tell us in the comments below!
