Video Games have always been an easy escape from reality for players. They open the door to a fantastical world that immerses the audience in their graphic beauty and story. Some of them have become important pop culture icons all over the world. Some are even as popular as famous TV shows, such as Game of Thrones. The two modes are now coming together, as hardcore gaming fans rejoice at the live adaptation of The Last of Us. The trailer begins with a post-apocalyptic scenario, with Ellie (Bella Ramsey) asking Joel (Pedro Pascal), “If you don’t think there’s hope for the world, why bother going on?”
To which Joel replies, “You haven’t seen the world. So you don’t know. You keep going for family.”
We also get a brief glimpse at several mutated zombies in the trailer as Joel and Ellie try to escape their deadly clutches.
Based on the super-popular video game of the same name, the show follows a man named Joel, played by Game of Thrones alum Pedro Pascal, who’s forced to bring a young girl named Ellie, portrayed by Pedro’s Thrones co-star Bella Ramsey, across a zombie-infested United States because she might be the key to a cure.
The HBO adaptation will be released on January 15, 2023, with the series currently in post-production. Are you excited about The Last of Us TV series? Talk to us in the comments below!
